NY Puj Press Event

Well, it finally happened! When I arrived in NY on Tuesday afternoon I did not have anyone who was available to help out at the event. But thanks to Skype, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I had a helper and photographer lined up within hours...amazing! Taylor Cannon came along. She was my note taker and eyes & ears. She kept me on track and made sure I did not miss anyone important. She was even up on the pop culture which was quite handy when a "Reality Star" showed up at the booth. I also had a friend of a friend, Jessica Kehl, show up to take pictures. She did an amazing job snapping tons of pictures and making Puj look VERY important. She even had several large companies (i.e. Skip*Hop) ask for her card. I met with editors from Martha Stewart Mag, People, US Weekly, RedBook, Fit Pregnancy, The View, New York Family, Working Mother, the Bump, Urban Baby, MomTrends, etc., I also met with celebrities Ana Ortiz, Melissa Joan Hart, & Jacqueline from "Real House Wives of NJ"
The event was for one of the 3 days I was there. The rest of the time I just walked all over the city enjoying the sunshine (80 degrees people!) and the freedom of taking my time pa-rousing the shops (Hello H&M...I love you!)
I also enjoyed dinner at a French Bistro with Taylor & Craig. The waiter recommended Beef Tartar (think beef sushi) so I went with a hamburger WELL done. It was so fun to catch up with them, I think it's been almost 10 years since I've seen him. I still can't believe how grown up he is....and with a REAL job no less.
I also enjoyed meeting so many nice people along my journey. Charlie Richardson (not related as far as I know) who sat next to me on the Super Shuttle. He was very complimentary to me and my business. He made me very confident going in to the event. Taylor Cannon who spent the day with me at a moments notice. Jessica Kehl who documented the who thing! Cathryn at Chase Bank who helped me print some shipping labels (I know, above and beyond). Jon from Republic Noodle who recommended the Chicken Pad Thai (so fresh and so good!) Charles the event coordinator who let me print some important documents from his computer. The bell boy who kept an eye out for my ride to JFK while I enjoyed my Pesto Panini. And my return flight Super Shuttle driver, you scared me more than any amusement park roller coaster ever could! Lucky for me I got to sit shot-gun.

Here is a little video of my event. More pictures will be forthcoming.
Enjoy!

  7. Austin, I actually put this video together myself. I told my photographer what kinds of shots I wanted at the event. Then I edited it together one night while Ben was in Taiwan and my little ones slept!
